Gangsta baby

Mira and I met Daddy for lunch earlier this week. While we were sitting at our table, Daddy got bored and stuck his sunglasses on Mira's head. Is she throwing a gang sign there with her hand??? She does look pretty chill... "Yo yo my homie. Mira in da hiz-ouse."

New tummy time mat

As one of our shower gifts, we had received this tummy-time play mat. We tried it out for the first time, and it was awesome! Previously we had been doing tummy time on a plain old blanket on the floor. This mat has bright colors to look at and a little pillow to help Mira elevate her head and little toys to play with. Usually she's frustrated with tummy time right away, but this time she put up with it much longer. You can see from the pictures that Mira really enjoyed chewing/sucking/slobbering on the pillow. Silly baby. She's getting really good at turning her head from side to side and she's holding it up a bit more steadily now.

Mira tries a bottle

Yesterday we let Mira try eating from a bottle for the first time. Previously, she was exclusively breastfed. We had waited till now to introduce a bottle in order to avoid nipple confusion. She took to the bottle like a champ, although there was a bit of sputtering and gulping involved. I think she's still getting used to the high flow of the bottle compared to the breast. Daddy gave her this bottle, and I think we're going to stick to the guideline that Mommy never gives a bottle so that she continues to associate Mommy-feedings with nursing and other-people-feedings with the bottle. Anyway, I was really happy that she took to it relatively easily... She's such a good baby!
